Guilty Pleasure Month--Day 1

So  any Andrew McCarthy Movie can make the list, but this is a Brat Pack Extravaganza.  St. Elmo's Fire is my favorite 80's train wreck.  It has bad acting, fake sax playing, and too many cigarettes.  The multiple plots never quite come together, but to it's credit it may be the first movie aimed at Generation Xers.  It expresses the dilemma over money vs. passion and lack of direction that often plagued the High School grads of the mid-eighties.

on the whole, the movie is wonderfully bad and even has an intolerably catchy theme song.  Both film and song are today's double header entry for day 1 of Guilty Pleasure Month
